This recipe is from Kraft. We made this for the first time for Christmas Eve and it was a huge hit! If you love a Reuben sandwich, this dip is for you! Of course, the Kraft recipe calls for all Kraft ingredients, but I didn't use any Kraft ingredients when I made it, so I've listed them generically. Ingredients:
4 oz cream cheese, softened |
1/2 cup thousand island dressing |
1/4 lb sliced deli corned beef, chopped (about 1 cup) |
3/4 cup well-drained sauerkraut |
8 oz swiss cheese (i used shredded, but you could also use chopped swiss slices) |
crackers, toasted bread for serving |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix cream cheese and dressing in medium bowl. 3. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well. 4. Spread into a 9-inch pie plate or small shallow baking dish. 5. Bake 20 minutes or until heated through. 6. Serve warm with crackers or toasted bread. I baked a loaf of french bread, then sliced thinly and toasted in the oven. It was perfect for spreading this dip onto - like a mini open-faced rueben. You could do the same with rye, marbled rye, sourdough - whatever. |
