Swiss,guyère and white wine with garlic. Melted oooey goooey goodness. Use as dip with bread or over top steamed vegetables, potatoes or pasta. Ingredients:
1 pound swiss cheese, grated |
3/4 pound guyère cheese, grated |
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper |
1-1/4 cups dry white wine |
3 large cloves of garlic, minced |
1 pound crusty french bread loaf, cut into 1-1/2-inch cubes |
Directions:
1. In a bowl, combine cheeses, flour, nutmeg and white pepper. 2. Toss well. 3. In a heavy saucepan over low heat, bring 1 cup white wine and garlic to a simmer. 4. Add the cheese mixture by handfuls, whisking until melted and smooth. 5. Mix in remaining wine by tablespoons to reach desired consistency. 6. Serve in a fondue pot over heat with bread for dipping OR use as a 7. topping for vegetables, pasta or potatoes. |
