Warm Chocolate Dumplings over Ice Cream |

Hot chocolate sauce and a warm chocolate dumpling over ice cream. From Atrium Catering in Minneapolis. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
1/2 cup cocoa |
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 dash salt |
3 cups water |
3 tablespoons butter |
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 tablespoons cocoa |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 beaten egg |
1/3 cup milk |
3 tablespoons melted butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix sauce ingredients well. 2. Heat sauce ingriedents until it comes to a boil and thickens slightly. 3. Then remove it from the heat. 4. Beat dumpling ingredients for one minute. 5. Return the skillet with the sauce ingredients to the heat, cover and bring it to a simmer. 6. Drop dumplings by the tablespoon into the sauce. 7. Cover and simmer gently 13 to 15 minutes. 8. (Peek once to make sure the sauce is simmering) For each serving put a scoop of ice cream in a single serving dish. 9. Place one hot dumpling over the ice cream, and spoon some of the hot chocolate sauce over it. 10. Eat standing up so the calories don't count. |
