This pie is plenty fudgy without the sauce. But with it, our test kitchen graded this dessert perfect. Ingredients:
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
3 large eggs, lightly beaten |
1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels, melted |
1 1/2 cups walnut halves |
1/2 (15-ounce) package refrigerated piecrusts |
coffee ice cream |
heavenly fudge sauce (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients, stirring until ingredients are blended. Stir in melted chocolate morsels and walnuts. 2. Fit piecrust into a 9 pieplate according to package directions. Fold edges under, and flute. Spoon filling into piecrust. 3. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack. Serve with coffee ice cream, and, if desired, Heavenly Fudge Sauce. |
