Incredible tasting french toast sure to please all. Enjoy Ingredients:
6 slices french bread |
4 large eggs |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/3 cup butter softened |
2/3 cup brown sugar firmly packed |
1-1/2 tablespoons dark corn syrup |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Place French bread slices in a buttered rectangular baking dish. 2. In large mixing bowl beat together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. 3. Pour egg mixture over bread and refrigerate overnight or for at least 2 hours prior to baking. 4. Remove egg soaked bread from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. 5. Preheat oven to 350. 6. In separate mixing bowl cream butter, brown sugar and dark corn syrup until smooth. 7. Spread buttery mixture over top of bread slices then sprinkle chopped walnuts over top. 8. Bake uncovered for 1 hour then serve hot from oven with syrup. |
