Sometimes the simplest cakes make the best desserts.This is a nutty confection,scented with cinnamon and cloves. Serve with whipped cream or sliced oranges. Ingredients:
butter(for pan0 |
flour(for pan) |
1c flour |
1/4tsp salt |
1tsp ground cinnamon |
1/2tsp ground cloves |
2c walnuts |
1c(2 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature |
11/3c granulated sugar |
4 eggs |
Directions:
1. Set oven at 350. Butter and flour 10 springform pan 2. In a bowl,sift flour,salt,cinnamon and cloves. 3. In a food processor,grind the nuts until they are medium fine 4. In an electric mixer,cream the butter,. Add the sugar,gradually in 3 stages,beating after each one. Add the eggs,one by one,beating only until they are incorporated. 5. Remove the bowl from mixer stand. With a rubber spatula,stir in the nuts,,then fold in the flour mixture. 6. Pour the batter into pan,smooth the top,and bake the cake for 45 mins. or till a skewer inserted in center of cake comes out clean. |
