Walnut Apple Cake With Butter Sauce |

I've had this recipe for awhile. It sounds quite good. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 cups flour |
2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
4 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
3/4 cup sugar |
3 tablespoons flour |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
walnut halves (optional) |
Directions:
1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla; mix well(batter will be stiff). 2. Stir in apples and walnuts,. 3. Spread into a greased 13 x9- inch baking pan. 4. Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes, or until cake tests done. 5. Cool on a wire rack. 6. For Sauce:. 7. Combine sugar, flour, milk, and butter over medium heat. 8. Stir in vanilla. 9. Cut cake into squares; top with warm sauce. 10. Garnish, if desired with walnut halves. |
