Add a slice of bacon and/or ham for a roughly 300 calorie breakfast or lunch. Makes 2 Belgian or 6 American waffles (2 servings).
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
3/4 c flour
2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 t splenda
1/2 t vanilla
3/4 c water
2 t brown sugar
2 t splenda
1/2 t corn starch
4 t water
0.14 oz walnuts (2 halves, chopped)
1/2 t butter
Directions:
1. Beat eggs whites until stiff and set aside. Combine flour through splenda; then add water and vanilla and stir until smooth and foamy. Fold in egg whites. Bake in waffle iron to yield 2 Belgian or 6 American waffles.
2. Combine brown sugar, splenda & corn starch. Slowly add water to keep smooth. Bring to boil. Add walnuts and butter. Serve over waffles.
