Last night we ate dinner with some friends of ours, and our friend Wade made this for dessert. It was TO DIE FOR and the almost the whole pan got gobbled up! He doubled the recipe, but I'm posting the original single version. The sprite and sugar makes an awesome glaze in the bottom of the pan that you can pour over the dumplings. Yum! Ingredients:
1 granny smith apple |
1 (8 ounce) can crescent rolls |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup sprite |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup butter |
cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Grease a small casserole dish and preheat oven to 350. 2. Cut the granny smith into eights. 3. Unroll the crescent rolls, and place one slice of the granny smith into each crescent roll and roll back up. Place in casserole dish. 4. Mix the sugar, sprite and vanilla and pour on top of crescent rolls. Dot butter around the top, and sprinkle with cinnamon. 5. Bake for around 30 min (?) or until tops of dumplings are golden brown. |
