My cousin gave me this recipe years ago. Don't let the vinegar scare you away...it's undetectable in the cake. The cake pan size was not specified on the recipe card she gave me but I would use a tube pan or even 2, 8 layer pans. Ingredients:
3 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup cocoa |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
10 tablespoons melted butter or 10 tablespoons oil |
2 cups cold water |
Directions:
1. Mis together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cocoa. 2. Add vanilla, vinegar, butter and water and mix well. 3. Pour into lightly greased cake pan. 4. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. |
