This comes from my mom's best friend and is published in our local 4-H cookbook. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 tablespoons cocoa |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
5 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 cup hot water |
Directions:
1. Sift together all dry ingredients over an 8x8 ungreased pan. 2. Level off dry ingredients. 3. Make three holes. 4. 1st hole-put 1 tsp Vanilla. 5. 2nd hole-put 1 tbsp Vinegar. 6. 3rd hole-put 5 tbsp melted butter. 7. Pour over top with 1 cup hot water. Mix well. 8. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. |
