Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or margarine |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 cups milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
dash of red pepper |
1 cup diced cooked chicken |
1 tablespoon sherry |
6 slices toast |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper. Add chicken; cook until chicken is thoroughly heated. Stir in sherry. Spoon over toast slices. |
