I got this recipe from the cookbook our church has published. It is very simple to make and so good with just a few basic ingredients. I am really not a meatloaf lover, but this is so good that we have very often. Yum, Yum, Yum. If you don't like it hot use 1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce. I've made some variations from the original recipe!!! The meat loaf taste even better than the original. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1/2 lb ground pork |
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package lipton beefy onion soup mix |
1 (10 ounce) can ro-tel diced tomatoes with green chilies |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
1 green bell pepper, chopped |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 egg |
1 -1 1/2 cup cracker crumb |
1/3 cup water |
1/2-1 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
1 tablespoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Chop bell pepper in small pieces. Place meat in mixing bowl. Add onion soup mix, bell pepper, diced tomatoes with green chilies, water, cracker crumbs, egg, garlic, Tabasco, salt and pepper, garlic powder. Mix well. Place in a 9 inch loaf pan. 2. Bake one hour. |
