Very Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies |

I've been using this recipe for years, and it is incredible! They also have a very short cooking time! These cookies also freeze well and remain tender, so they are excellent for ice cream sandwiches, too. Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening |
2/3 cup margarine |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
3 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 (8 ounce) bag chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375°F 2. First, cream both sugars with the shortening, margarine, eggs, and vanilla. Then, gradually add soda, salt and flour. 3. Stir in chocolate chips. 4. Bake 8-9 minutes. (Don't overcook them - they probably won't LOOK done, but that's why they're so tender). |
