This is a delicious and fairly easy to make cake from a French friend. It's very dense so don't be surprised when it deflates a while after you take it from the oven. Every time I make it someone asks for the recipe so I thought I should post it here. Ingredients:
100 g butter, normal salted |
200 g chocolate, black (for cooking) |
100 g sugar |
35 g flour |
5 eggs |
salt |
Directions:
1. Melt butter and chocolate to cream. The best technique is bain marie. 2. Separate whites and yolks of the 5 eggs. 3. Add the sugar to the yolks and beat with an electric mixer until it becomes white (about 5 min). Then add the melted butter and chocolate, plus the flour stirring gently with a spoon. 4. Add a little bit of salt to the whites and beat with the electric mixer around 3 minute 5. Add the whipped whites to the other mixture, stirring gently. 6. Put the preparation in a cake tin. 7. Bake in oven at 180°F for 20-25 minutes (though in my oven it usually takes at least 30 minutes). |
