Simplicity is the key point here. When you run out of Venison let your mind wander. I have always been the Camp Cook with our crowd and this is a must. Simple and very satisfying. You might even catagorize it as comfort food. Don't know where it came from except that my Dad showed me back about 1940. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs venison, chopped |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 green pepper, chopped |
1/2 cup breadcrumbs |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 cup ketchup |
9 inches deep dish pie shells |
10 -12 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
1 tablespoon milk |
1 egg, beaten |
Directions:
1. Cook the Onion, Pepper, and meat. Drain. 2. ADD:. 3. Bread crumbs, Salt & Pepper Ketchup and put in pie crust. 4. Mix Cheese, Milk & Egg. Spread on Pie and bake 350 Degrees. 5. for 35-40 minutes. |
