This takes me back to frosty winter mornings. Waking up to the smell of this baking and thinking of syrup dripping all over my plate...makes me wish I was a kid again. Ingredients:
12 slices day-old bread |
4 eggs |
2 1/2 c milk |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/4 tsp pepper |
velveeta |
Directions:
1. place 6 slices of bread in bottom of a greased baking dish 2. cover with slices of Velveeta 3. top with remaining 6 slices of bread 4. beat together eggs, milk and seasoning 5. pour over sandwiches 6. let stand 1 hour (you can even make it the night before and refrig.) 7. bake at 325F for 40 min. or til puffed up and lightly browned 8. serve plain or with jam, jelly or (my fav) syrup |
