I adapted this from a recipe I learned from my Japanese neighbors when I lived in Hawaii. Yummy and easy Ingredients:
2 (6 ounce) packages noodles, japanese chuka soba (chowmein) |
1 cup diced onion |
1 teaspoon ginger, grated |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced |
1 (4 ounce) can canned mushroom slices, drained |
1 cup broccoli floret |
2 tablespoons canola oil |
1 tablespoon sesame seed oil, toasted |
4 tablespoons ketchup |
4 tablespoons soy sauce |
2 tablespoons apple juice |
1 tablespoon thai sweet chili sauce |
Directions:
1. Mix together the sesame oil, ketchup, soy sauce, apple juice and chili sauce in a small bowl and set aside. 2. Heat oil in a large heavy pan over medium high heat. 3. Stir in the garlic, ginger and onion. Add the other veggies and stir fry to desired doneness. 4. Cook the noodle according to package directions. Add to the stir fry along with the sauce. 5. Eat while fresh and warm. |
