A hearty low-fat stew for the cabbage lovers. Ingredients:
1/2 cabbage, coarse chopped |
4 carrots, sliced |
1 large potato, cubed |
1 onion, chopped |
5 garlic cloves, minced |
1 1/4 cups vegetable broth |
1/2 teaspoon thyme |
1/2 teaspoon sage |
1/2 teaspoon white pepper or 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper |
salt, to taste |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a dutch oven. 2. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes. 3. Vary the recipe by adding zucchini, mushrooms, or corn. |
