Great stew for the weekend or a cool evening. Ideal to start just before lunch. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sliced onion |
1 lb ground beef |
1/4 cup long-grain rice, uncooked |
3 cups raw diced raw potatoes |
2 cups sliced carrots |
1 cup diced celery |
2 cups canned kidney beans, drained |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon chili powder |
1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1 cup tomato sauce |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Brown onions and ground beef in skillet, drain. 2. Layer ingredients in slow cooker in the order given. 3. Cover, and cook on low for 6 hours or until potatoes and rice are cooked. |
