This is an excellent vegetable juice that is very common to find at juice stores in India during winters. The juice has three versions, plain, sweet, and salted. I prefer the version with black salt and lots of lime (the indian taste). The servings can be reduced as required. I make this juice every Staurday and it goes up to thursday for me and my wife and occasionally my 1.5 yr old son. Ingredients:
3000 g carrots |
3000 g cucumber |
1000 g beetroot |
1000 g celery |
500 g tomatoes |
100 g lime juice |
100 g cilantro |
50 g ginger |
25 g mint leaves |
1/4 tbsp salt |
Directions:
1. Peel Carrots, Cucumber, Beetroot. 2. Juice the Cucumbers, Carrots, Celery, and Tomatoes in separate containers the first time you are making this juice. 3. Juice beetroot, cilantro, ginger and mint leaves together in one container. 4. Now mix 1 part cucumber juice, 1 part carrort juice, 1/6 part tomato juice, 1/3 part celery juice and 1/3 part beetroot juice. Add lime juice and salt according to taste. 5. Refrigerate immediately in very cold area of the Refrigerator. 6. You can vary ingredients or parts based on your taste. That is the reason why I ask to juice them sepearte. This is not the easiest juice to like, but if you start liking it, its hard to gte away. 7. I am not 100 % about this but I have seen that tomatoes causes the juice to go bad much quicker than when I make it without tomatoes. This juice will last you for a week in a good fridge. 8. Dont be afraid of taking the roughage from the juicer to run a second round, you would be amazed how much more juice comes out of it. 9. In all vegetable juice there will be settlement at bottowm and froth on top within a couple of minutes of juicing. I usually get rid of the froth from top as it causes a bad taste. I wonder if thats where the fat gets deposited, not sure. |
