Adds a little color and flavor to plain white rice. Ingredients:
2 cups water |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 teaspoon chicken flavor instant bouillon (or 1 cube) |
1 cup uncooked rice (i use basmati) |
1/2 cup shredded carrot |
1/2 cup sliced celery |
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter and bouillon to a boil; stir to dissolve bouillon. 2. Stir in remaining ingredients and return to a boil. 3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes until rice is tender. |
