After trying many different vegan/vegetarian chili recipes I decided to make my own. I wanted a wienerschnitzel's kinda chili to put on top of fries with cheese, veggie dogs, and soy burgers. It tastes AMAZING! Even meat-lovers loved it :D. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups textured soy protein (boiled soy meat) |
1/2 medium brown onion (chopped) |
2 tablespoons oil |
8 ounces tomato sauce |
1 1/2 ounces lawry's chili powder |
1 cup water |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard |
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 dash salt |
1/4 teaspoon paprika |
Directions:
1. Boil 1 1/4 cup dehydrated textured soy protein in 6 cups of water, add salt and pepper to taste. 2. Sautee onion and Boiled soy meat in 2 tablespoons oil, in medium sauce pan, for 3-5 minutes. 3. Add Lawry's chili powder, tomato sauce, and water, stir well. 4. Add mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. 5. Reduce heat and let simmer for 2-4 minutes stirring occasionally. 6. ENJOY! |
