Flavorful vegan chili. can use ground meat instead for carnivorous vesion. Ingredients:
1/2 lb. soy protein |
16 oz dark red kidney beans |
14 oz baked beans (can be vegetarian) |
14 oz stewed tomatoes |
6 oz tomato paste |
18 oz (ragu) sauce - chunky onions & garlic |
3 cloves garlic, pressed |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 small red pepper, chopped |
1 jalapeno pepper, diced |
1 tsp. cayenne pepper |
3 tbs. chili powder |
1 tsp fresh ground pepper |
1 tbl cajun chef green hot sauce (or other desired flavoring) |
Directions:
1. Brown ground stuff in the chili pot or in a skillet. 2. Combine all ingredients in the chili pot or crock pot and shimmer for several hours. 3. I prefer to let it sit overnight after cooking for a few hours and then reheat it. It lets the flavor stew. |
