You can use this to replace vanilla extract in any recipe. Also use it to flavor French toast, batter and whipped cream. After preparing, the essence needs to sit for a couple months before using. Ingredients:
2 cups good-quality brandy |
6 vanilla beans, split lengthwise |
Directions:
1. Place the brandy in a bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid. 2. Split the vanilla beans and scrape the seeds from the inside into the brandy. 3. Add all the scraped beans as well. 4. Seal tightly and let steep in a cool place for a few months before using. 5. Makes 2 cups. |
