My Grandma's and still my favorite! Prep time is without baking time. Ingredients:
100 g finely ground almonds |
280 g flour |
210 g soft unsalted butter |
70 g sugar |
1 pinch salt |
vanilla sugar, to toss in |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 160°C. 2. Combine flour with ground almonds and mix with soft butter till smooth. 3. Add sugar and salt. 4. Form a long strand about 1 1/2 inches thick by rolling the dough. 5. Cut into 2 inch pieces. 6. Taper the ends and form into crescents. 7. Put on an ungreased cookie sheet. 8. Bake on middle rack for about 12 minutes until golden brown. 9. Let cool for about 2 minutes on the sheet. 10. Remove and carefully toss them individually in a bowl with vanilla sugar to cover them completely (do this while they are still warm!). 11. Makes for delicate crescents with a subtle flavor. |
