These are wonderful! The vanilla chips add a nice touch! The recipe comes from the Hershey's Homemade cookbook. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided |
1 cup granulated sugar, divided |
1/3 cup margarine, softened |
3/4 cup hershey's vanilla chip |
1/2 cup egg substitute |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel |
powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In medium bowl, stir together 1 cup flour & 1/4 cup granulated sugar; with pastry blender, cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 3. Press mixture onto bottom of 9 square baking pan. 4. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned. 5. Remove from oven & let cool. 6. In medium bowl, stir together egg substitute, lemon juice, lemon peel, remaining 3/4 cup sugar. 7. Sprinkle vanilla chips over the cooled crust. 8. Careful pour lemon mixture over the chips & crust. 9. Bake 15 minutes or until set. 10. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack; sprinkle with powdered sugar. 11. Cool completely before cutting into bars. |
