Ingredients:
8 egg yolks |
1/2 gallon(s) half and half |
2 cup(s) sugar |
2 vanilla bean pods |
1 quart(s) whole milk |
Directions:
1. Heat half and half with vanilla bean pods - simmer; do not boil. Cook for 20 minutes. Remove bean pods and scrap out seeds. Put seeds back into milk. Lightly beat egg yolks. Mix 1/2 cup warm milk mixture with egg yolks. Pour yolks into remaining milk - mix well and cook low heat for 10 minutes. Cool. Pour into freezer container, top with milk, freeze. |
