From Sweet Pea Baking and Catering of Phoenix Arizona, a lovely cake for any occasion, esp for Valentines day Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups flour |
1 tbs baking powder |
1/4 tsp salt |
8 oz sweet butter, softened |
1 3/4 cup sugar |
1 vanilla beam, split and seeds scraped |
3 eggs |
1 3/4 cup milk |
filling and frosting as desired such as marscarpone and berries or a rich chocolate frosting |
Directions:
1. Sift dry ingredients except sugar 2. Cream butter and sugar 3. Blend in vanilla seeds 4. Add eggs one at a time 5. Alternating add dry ingrdients with milk 6. Blend well but do not over beat 7. Divide batter into two greased and floured round 8 inch cake pans 8. Bake in a preheated 350F oven until done about 40 minutes 9. Cool on rack, remove and fill and frost as desired |
