I use my sable recipe to make this simple cookies to give away at the bakery to all customers Ingredients:
• 1-1/4 cups all purpose flour |
• * pinch of salt |
• * 1/4 cup of sugar |
• * 1/2 cup finely ground almonds |
• * 1 tbsp vanilla extract |
• * 1/3cup butter,softened |
• * 2 egg yolks |
• * to finish |
• * powder sugar with a few drops of |
evaporated milk and 2 drops of red food |
coloring (to make the pink) |
Directions:
1. 1. Grease several baking sheets with butter. 2. . 2. Stir flour, salt and sugar in medium size bowl 3. 3. mix in almonds and vanilla extract 4. 4. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine 5. bread crumbs. 6. 5. Add egg yolks and mix to form a soft dough. 7. 6. Roll out dough on a floured surface, and cut using a 8. heart shaped cutter. 9. 7. Place slightly apart 10. 8. Refrigerate unbaked for 30 minutes 11. 9. Preheat oven to 350F, 12. 10. Bake Sables for 15 to 20 min or until light brown. 13. 11. Remove, when cool, decorate with a pipe and 14. the colored sugar icing. 15. 12. Enjoy |
