Quick and easy appetizer, but I know two boys who make a meal out of it ;-) Ingredients:
piggies |
1 (1 1/2 lb) pkg sausage links or “smokee links |
pillsbury® refrigerated crescent roll dough (quantity corresponding to number of sausage links) |
dip |
1 large ripe avocado, pitted, peeled and mashed |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 medium onion, small dice |
2 tbsps lime juice |
1 cup mayonnaise |
1 cup sour cream |
1/4 cup mustard (your choice) |
1/4 tsp hot sauce |
Directions:
1. If using uncooked sausage links, cook per normal cooking time and allow to cool prior to rolling each link in a crescent roll. Roll so that the long point of the wrapper ends up on the outside of the piggie . 2. “Smokee Links” – which are approximately same in size as sausage links – are fully cooked and therefore can be wrapped without precooking. 3. Bake wrapped sausage links per crescent roll package directions until rolls are a nice golden brown. 4. Meanwhile, combine dip ingredients; refrigerate until needed. 5. Serve piggies with spicy avocado dip and salsa, if desired 6. NOTE: Serve as a side with eggs and potatoes... another great “breakfast-for-dinner idea”!! |
