Upside Down French Appletart In Iron Skillet |

Baked in an iron skillet, then turned upside down... this tart is first cousin to an apple pie. The iron skillet bakes the apples, sugar, butter just right! Top with vanilla ice cream. Ingredients:
5-6 granny smith apples |
1 large pie crust |
2 tablespoons butter |
6 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Preaheat oven to 375 degrees 2. Melt butter in cast-iron skillet 3. Sprinkle sugar, and cinnamon into melted butter 4. Stir gently until sugar melts 5. Remove from heat 6. Place peeled, sliced apples on top of melted mixture 7. Roll out pie crust and place on top of apples folding edges neatly inside skillet 8. Make sure edges go completely to all sides 9. Using fork, make small vent holes in pie crust. 10. Bake for 25 minutes 11. Remove and let set for 10 minutes 12. Place cake plate over skillet and turn up-side down 13. Serve with vanilla ice cream |
