Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls (Modified) |

This is my modification of Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls. I like to lightly sprinkle colby jack cheese on top. Ingredients:
1 head cabbage, chopped |
1 1/4 lbs lean hamburger |
1 cup uncooked white rice |
1 egg |
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste |
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 onion, diced |
4 tablespoons sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1 teaspoon basil |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. 2. Prepare rice according to package directions. 3. Brown hamburger and onion. 4. Boil cabbage until tender. 5. Mix all ingredients in a 11x14 pan. 6. Cover with foil. 7. Bake for 30-35 minutes. |
