Biscuit recipe, made with oil rather than shorting. These have been made in my family for a very long time. They are light and flaky and I can't imagine a bowl of homemade soup of stew with out these served beside it. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/4 cup oil |
3/4 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees F. 2. Blend dry ingredients together. 3. Mix in Oil and Milk until combined. 4. Knead lightly then pat into a circle approximately 8 inches diameter then cut into 6 wedges for larger biscuits or into a rectangle and cut into 12 squares. 5. You can use a biscuit cutter and cut rounds but I like the rustic look of them in squares or wedges. 6. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes. |
