This rich, buttery toffee is to die for! With three kinds of chocolate and two types of nuts, it never lasts long! Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup slivered almonds |
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips |
1/4 cup chopped walnuts |
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips |
1/4 cup white chocolate chips |
1 tbs. shortening |
Directions:
1. Butter a 9 x13 jelly roll pan. 2. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar and butter. 3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. 4. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. 5. Uncover; add almonds. 6. Continue cooking and stirring until mixture reaches 300 degrees. 7. Immediately pour mixture into prepared pan; do not scrape sides. Spread toffee out to edges of the pan 8. Cool for 3 minutes; sprinkle with milk chocolate chips. Allow to sit for 2 minutes; spread chocolate all over the toffee. Sprinkle with walnuts; press gently into the chocolate with the back of a wooden spoon. Chill until chocolate is hardened. 9. Melt semisweet chocolate; drizzle over toffee. Chill 10. Melt white chips with shortening; drizzle over dark chocolate. Chill until firm; break into pieces. |
