I've always disliked Margaritas made with sour mix, now I'll never have to drink one again. I've tried soooo many recipes, but this is the best by far. The only way I changed the original was to double the sugar. Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh lime juice |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1/4 cup cointreau liqueur |
1/4 cup triple sec |
1 cup tequila |
ice |
4 -6 ounces beer (light mexican beer is recommended) |
Directions:
1. Combine lime juice, sugar, Cointreau, Triple Sec, tequila, and a big handful of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake 30 seconds, add the beer, but do not shake. Strain into salt rimmed glasses (optional, I don't like it) filled with ice. Garnish with a lime slice. |
