If you want chocolate fudge, this is it. I got this recipe from my mother-in-law. It's a Christmas staple in her house, and it's my husband's favorite fudge. It makes a lot of fudge, so it's a good recipe to use for gift giving. Prep time is approximate. Paul Kaczinsky. Ingredients:
3 3/8 cups sugar |
1 (12 ounce) bag chocolate chips |
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk |
1/2 lb mini marshmallows |
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate |
1/2 cup margarine |
1 (13 ounce) hershey's chocolate candy bars |
1 (11 1/2 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
2 cups nuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preliminarily: prepare all the chocolate by chopping into small pieces. 2. Dissolve sugar and margarine in milk in a med. saucepan. Put a lid on it and heat on medium until it begins to boil. 3. Remove lid and stir for 5 minutes. 4. Remove from heat. 5. Add marshmallows, then all the chocolate and stir until smooth. 6. Add vanilla (and nuts). 7. Line both a 9x13 inch pan and an 8x8 pan with wax or parchment paper. 8. Divide and press fudge into pans. 9. Cool completely before cutting into small squares. |
