This is a mystery dish! - I cannot find the origin of where I got this recipe, nor can I find out the meanig Of Tzimmes However I serve this as a side dish with roast meat or chicken and it is wonderful. Who knows it could be a dessert!!! I think this would be a wonderful filling for sweet porogies instead of plum Ingredients:
2 large yams, peeled and cut into cubes |
2 carrots, thinly sliced |
1/2 cup pitted prune |
1 cup water |
1 apple, cored peeled &,cubed |
honey, to taste |
Directions:
1. Put the yams, carrots, prunes and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil cover and simmer 25 minutes or until tender Add apple& honey cook 25 minutes longer. 2. Turn the mixture into a casserole bake uncovered at 350F for for 20 minutes. |
