My family and I love this! Beware- I use LOTS of garlic! Less can be used. Ingredients:
1- 750g container balkan style yogurt |
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice |
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil |
8-10 cloves of garlic ; minced |
1 tsp kosher salt |
1 c. peeled, seeded, grated cucumber |
Directions:
1. Place 4 layers of cheesecloth over a bowl. (secure cheesecloth around the bowl with a rubberband) 2. spoon yogurt onto cheesecloth. Leave for about an hour to drain. just leave on the counter- it won't go bad. 3. When the yogurt is thick enough trasfer to a clean bowl 4. add all ingredients and mix well. 5. chill at least an hour in the fridge. 6. serve with greek pita , as a sauce for lamb or on salad. |
