One more way to use Textured Vegetable Protein. Ingredients:
1 cup textured vegetable protein |
1 cup bulgar wheat |
1 cup oatmeal |
1 (1/16 ounce) package dry onion soup mix |
1 red bell pepper |
1 garlic clove |
3/4 cup ketchup |
3/4 cup boiling water |
herbs or spices, of your choice |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. Place TVP, bulgur, oatmeal and soup mix in a large bowl. 3. Add boiling water. Stir well. Set aside. 4. Chop pepper and garlic. 5. Add all ingredients except ketchup to the mixture. Let sit a few minutes. 6. Spray a large pan with PAM. 7. Fold mixture into the pan and around edges. 8. Brush with ketchup. 9. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes. |
