Tuscan-style Sausage And White Bean Soup |

This is a recipe presented by the Carnation foods people so its a Back of the Box sort of recipe. Ingredients:
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 can (12 fluid ounces) nestlé carnation evaporated milk |
1 can (14.5 fluid ounces) chicken broth |
1/2 to 1 pound mild italian sausage, cooked and drained |
1 can (15.5 ounces) cannellini (white kidney beans), undrained |
salt |
ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. MELT butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, 1 to 2 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in flour. Gradually stir in evaporated milk and broth. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Add sausage and beans. Heat through. Season to taste with salt and ground black pepper. |
