I got some really cheap turnip greens and needed different ways to cook them. This is a satisfing soup that I cobbled together from several recipes. Ingredients:
2 slices bacon, diced |
1 stalk celery, chopped |
1/2 cup onion, cubed |
1 garlic clove, crushed |
3 cups water |
1 potato, peeled, cubed |
1 chicken bouillon cube |
1 (15 ounce) can white beans, drained |
1 (14 ounce) can turnip greens |
1 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Saute bacon, celery, and onion together. 2. Add garlic. 3. Add water. 4. Add potato and chicken bouillon cube. 5. Add white beans and turnip greens. 6. Season with pepper. |
