Turnip Greens In Pot Likker |

Ingredients:
1/2 pound salt pork, cubed |
2 quarts water |
2 medium onions, peeled and quartered |
1 small red pepper pod |
2 bunches (about 6 pounds) turnip greens, cleaned |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
Directions:
1. Wash salt pork, and place in a 10-quart Dutch oven. Add water, onions, and pepper pod; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 2 hours or until meat is tender. 2. Add turnip greens and salt to Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 2 hours or until turnip greens are tender. Drain, reserving pot likker to serve over turnip greens, if desired. Remove pepper pod; discard. |
