pasta/parmesan white sauce casserole with many variations possible Ingredients:
16 oz whole wheat pasta,uncooked (capellini) |
4 tbsp smart balance 67 |
1/3 cup flour,plain |
2 cups milk 1 |
3 cups chicken broth |
4 cups turkey,dark meat,chopped |
10 oz sweet peas, baby and butter sauce,green giant |
1 2/3 cups parmesan cheese, grated |
1/4 cup onions, finely chopped |
1/4 tsp white pepper |
Directions:
1. cook pasta to al dente in lightly salted water, drain place in 9 x 1`3 casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray 2. melt smart balance in 3 qt saucepan and saute onions 3. add flour and stir to blend 4. stir in milk and broth and white pepper 5. heat to boil 6. remove from heat and add 1 1/3 cup parmesan cheese 7. add peas , mushrooms and turkey to sauce 8. mix with pasta 9. sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese 10. bake at 350* for 45 - 60 min until lightly browned |
