Turkey Tacos recipe (slightly modified) from Easy HOme Cooking - All New Slow Cooker Cookbook, pg 57 Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey |
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste |
1/2 cup salsa |
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
8 flour tortillas (6 inch) |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup 2% milk |
1/2 cup fat-free sour cream |
Directions:
1. Brown turkey in large skillet over medium heat. 2. Combine turkey mixture, tomato paste, salsa, cilantro and salt in slow cooker. 3. Cover and cook on Low 4 - 5 hours. 4. Sppon 1/4 cup turkey mixture into each taco shell (flour tortilla); keep warm 5. Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. 6. Stir in flour and salt. 7. Carefully stir in milk. 8. Cook over low heat until thickened. 9. Remove from heat. 10. Combine sour cream and sprinkle of ground red pepper in small bowl. 11. Stir into hot milk mixture. 12. Return to heat;cook over low heat 1 minute, stirring constantly. 13. Spoon over taco filling. 14. Makes 8 tacos |
