A quick, low fat dish for cold weather. Prep time includes cook time.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chopped cabbage
2 medium carrots, sliced
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
3/4 cup water
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, cook turkey, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, drain.
2. Add the remaining ingredients.
3. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
