A quick, low fat dish for cold weather. Prep time includes cook time. Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey |
1 medium onion, chopped |
3 cloves garlic, minced |
4 cups chopped cabbage |
2 medium carrots, sliced |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained |
3/4 cup water |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
1 tablespoon white vinegar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, cook turkey, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, drain. 2. Add the remaining ingredients. 3. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. |
