Turkey Sausage and Peppers |

I make this recipe all the time for a lighter version of Italian sausage and peppers. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil |
8 green peppers, sliced into strips |
1 large onion, in rings |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 lb turkey sausage, sweet italian |
1 teaspoon basil |
1 teaspoon italian seasoning |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in large frying pan. 2. Add green pepper strips and saute for 4-5 minutes. 3. Add onion rings and stir. 4. Add garlic cloves and stir. 5. Add sausage (I usually squeeze chucks out of the casing), cook and stir. 6. Add basil, Italian seasoning , and salt and pepper. 7. Cook until peppers and sausage are desired doneness. 8. Serve over rice or in sub roll. |
