Turkey Meatloaf With Cheddar Mashed Potatoes |

No slicing or dicing in this classic dish. It's flavored with smoky bacon and toasted onions Ingredients:
1 env. onion soup mix |
1/3c steak sauce |
11/2lbs ground turkey |
1 egg |
1/4c plain,dry bread crumbs |
5 slices bacon |
1 cont.(24oz) refrigerated mashed potatoes, or your own |
1/2c shreaded cheddar cheese |
parsley and add'l cheddar,optional |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 .In large bowl,combine onion soup mixmsteak sauce and 1/4c water;Let stand till onion pieces soften,about 5 mins. Stir in turkey,egg and breadcrumbs. 2. In roasting pan,shape turkey mixture into 10x5 loaf. Arrange bacon slices across the loaf in single layer,tucking ends under. 3. Bake till meat thermometer reaches 160,45-60 mins. 4. Heat potatoes according to pkg. directions;stir in 1/2c cheese. Serve with meatloaf. If desired,garnish with parsley sprigs and additional cheddar cheese 5. If using your own mashed potatoes,just stir cheese into them. |
