Turkey Meatballs Arrabbiata |

This spicy arrabbiata sauce, which means angry in Italian, is sure to stir up some intense emotions at your table!! So delicious!! Ingredients:
2 tablespoons pure olive oil |
1/2 cup sweet onion, finely diced |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2 tablespoons tomato paste |
2 (796 ml) cans diced tomatoes |
1/2 teaspoon dried basil |
1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves |
1/2 cup chicken broth (30% less sodium) |
0.5 (280 g) package frozen extra lean ground turkey meatballs |
0.5 (450 g) package penne rigate |
1/4 cup fresh italian parsley, chopped |
1/4 cup shaved parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté , stirring frequently until lightly softened, 2-3 minutes. Stir in hot pepper flakes and sugar, cooking for 10-20 seconds. Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, broth and meatballs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes. 2. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions; drain and keep warm. Gently stir pasta and parsley into sauce. Garnish each serving with Parmesan cheese. |
