Something different for breakfast. You could serve it with a poached egg on top if you like. Ingredients:
2 teaspoons olive oil |
1 small onion, chopped |
1 small red bell pepper, chopped |
2 turnips, diced |
1/2 teaspoon thyme |
1 pound roast turkey breast, diced |
2 servings bisto, prepared |
1 salt and pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add turnips and thyme, cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Add turkey and half and half; simmer until the liquid is slightly thickened, about 3 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 2. Note: Bisto is an instant gravy available in England and Australia, but not widely available in the United States. 2 servings is about 1/2 cup. You could substitute any gravy, but it will alter your calorie count. You could even substitute milk or half and half, as well. |
